Damage in the case of ex-deputy governor Don Sergey Sidash decreased to ₽80 million

The alleged damage to the budget of the Rostov region in the case of the former deputy governor of the Rostov region, Sergei Sidash, decreased from 223 million to 80 million rubles. This is reported by the publication donnews from the courtroom.

On April 14, the COURT announced the results of the examination conducted by the FBU “Southern Federal Center for Forensic Science”. According to the HEAD of the center, Galina Vlasenko, after studying the estimates for the facilities and the difference in the cost of coarse and fine sand, the experts concluded that the final difference between the actually purchased materials and documentary calculations did not exceed 80 million rubles. Previously, the amount of theft was estimated at 223 million rubles.

Recall that Sergei Sidash was detained in May 2019. According to the investigation, the Deputy Governor, former Minister of Construction of the region Nikolai Bezuglov and the heads of the contractor organization are involved in the thieves of budget funds intended for the construction of the Rostov Arena. So, the defendants in the case replaced expensive and high-quality sand with a cheaper analogue, which was not reflected in the documents, and the difference was divided among themselves.

In July 2020, ex-Minister of Construction of the Rostov Region Nikolai Bezuglov was found guilty of abuse of office (Article 285 Part 3). The Kirovsky District Court of Rostov sentenced him to two years of probation.

In September of the same year, Sergey Mishchenko, DIRECTOR of Rostovoblstroyzakazchik, who was involved in organizing tenders and signing acts of acceptance of work performed, was also conditionally sentenced to 2 years. Both of them pleaded not guilty.
