The Ministry of Industry and Trade did not rule out parallel imports of equipment for TV and radio

The Ministry of Industry and Trade allowsthat if there is a risk of shortage, the list of goods available for parallel import will be replenished with television and radio equipment

Some foreign companies continue to supply equipment for television and radio broadcasting to RUSSIA, but if there is a risk of unsatisfied demand, it may be included in the list of goods allowed for parallel imports, the Ministry of Industry and Trade told TASS.

The press service of the department noted that Russian companies also produce a number of types of equipment, but the authorities are additionally working with manufacturers on the possibility of localizing the production of such goods in Russia "in order to insure possible future risks."

Parallel import implies the possibility of importing products into the country without the consent of the copyright holder - through third countries. On March 30, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree abolishing liability for gray imports.

On May 6, the Ministry of Industry and Trade published a list of goods that are subject to parallel imports. These are cars (Land Rover, Bentley, Jaguar, Lexus, Porsche, Rolls-Royce and others), electronics (Apple, Asus, Samsung, Siemens, Intel, Sony, HP), railway locomotives and rolling stock, boats, seedlings and flowers, motor fuels, rare earth metals, leather goods, hats, toys and sports equipment. The HEAD of department, Denis Manturov, promised that brands would be promptly removed from the list if companies decide to continue working in Russia.

The legalization of parallel imports was supported by the Federal Antimonopoly Service. They stressed that the requirements for the safety and quality of products supplied to the country will continue to apply.

Sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia because of the operation in Ukraine have also affected the telecommunications industry. On April 8, the United States withdrew telecommunications and Internet equipment from sanctions.
