The younger brother of the first president of Kazakhstan, Bolat Nazarbayev, crossed the border with Kyrgyzstan in the midst of the unrest that swept the country, 24.kg reported, citing sources. According to them, Nursultan Nazarbayev's brother crossed the border by car on January 6 through the Ak-Jol checkpoint (the next day, traffic through this checkpoint was stopped by Kazakhstan).

The 24.kg edition published a photo of the monitor of an employee of the border service of Kyrgyzstan. According to the data displayed on the screen, Bolat Nazarbayev crossed the border on a diplomatic passport at about 5:30 am and was heading to Bishkek. Sources of the publication claim that later on the same day, the brother of the ex-president flew from Manas airport to Dubai.

Earlier it was reported that on January 6, a Bombardier Global Express plane from the UAE landed in Manas, which the same 24.kg portal called “Nazarbayev’s”. On the night of January 7, the plane, according to the Flightradar24 service, flew from Bishkek to Dubai.

“Who was the passenger of the ship, we do not know, since this is not within our competence,” the press service of Manas Airport said at the time.

The media called the younger brother of the ex-president one of the wealthiest people in the country, he is, in particular, credited with controlling large markets in Almaty and its suburbs.
