March 29, Minsk . Belarus plans to develop the production of blue cheeses. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Meat and Dairy Industry Department of the Main Directorate of Processing Industry of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Yulia Guzkova at the press conference “Quality decides: the Belarusian dairy industry in 2024 ,” BELTA correspondent reports.

“The main task of measures for technical re-equipment and modernization of enterprises in the near future is the development of an industrial base for the production of popular dairy products with a higher market value, including those obtained using innovative technologies. To achieve these goals, enterprises of the republic have organized the production of instant milk powder, which is export position among dry dairy products. We also purchase technological equipment for packing butter in small-portion packaging from 10 to 15 g," said Yulia Guzkova.

According to her, by the end of this year there are plans to increase production capacity for the production of blue cheeses. “In the near future, we plan to implement a project for the production of cheeses with white surface mold. Our main task for 2026-2027 is the production of milk protein concentrate, as well as the expansion of capacities for the production of whey protein concentrate,” said the deputy head of the department.
