Demand for delivery of products outside the city in the summer will be 50% of all orders

This forecast was announced by the Utkonos ONLINE service. Long weekends in May, as well as the beginning of the summer season, have already increased this figure. So, in the last week of April, the Utkonos online store recorded a share of orders from the Moscow region at the level of 37% of the total, while in the winter months it was no more than 30%.

At the same time, the average check also increased. At the end of April, the average cost of a food package delivered in the Moscow region was 5,400 rubles, which is 10% higher than the average order amount in Moscow. The average bill of an order to the far suburbs is 40% higher than in Moscow.

There is also an increase in the assortment in the check: it contains 11.5% more goods than in the order from Moscow. At the same time, most often buyers prefer to order vegetables, fruits, dairy products and water.

— With the beginning of the summer season, we increased the delivery capacity outside the city and made it free of charge in order to provide people moving for the warm season with the same level of service as in Moscow. We expect that at this time the share of such orders will increase to 50%,” said Mikhail Morozov, Director of Marketing and Customer Service at Utkonos ONLINE.

In 2020, the peak demand for out-of-town grocery delivery fell on the period from May to August. Then it was 40% for Utkonos ONLINE in terms of the number of orders and almost 50% in terms of their value.
