The asymptomatic course of COVID-19 is explained by the features of immunity that have not yet been clarified. About this, as reported by RIA Novosti, said Sergey Netesov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of Bionanotechnology, Microbiology and Virology at Novosibirsk State University (NSU), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“There are still not clearly elucidated features of immunity in individuals, because of which a person gets sick easily or almost asymptomatically,” Nesterov said.

At the same time, the scientist noted that it is these people who become the spreaders of the infection, since some of them do not wear masks.

“Dozens of such cases have already been described. The most famous was last year in the spring, when there was a choral society somewhere near Washington, where such a person came. They sang for two hours and five days later all 50 people fell ill,” Nesterov said.
