
An animal rabies quarantine has been introduced in the Leninsky district of Chelyabinsk. The epizootic focus was a house on Ladozhskaya Street in the village of Smoleozerny. The corresponding order of the regional government was signed on August 24.
As follows from the document, it is prohibited to visit the epizootic focus by unauthorized persons, import and EXPORT of animals. In a disadvantaged area, which is recognized as the entire Leninsky district, it is forbidden to hold fairs, exhibitions and other events related to animals; as well as take out animals.
Restrictive measures will be in effect for about two months.
As explained in the Regional Veterinary Station, the diagnosis of rabies was established on August 12 in a cat belonging to residents of the village of Smoleozerny.
In general, according to the ROSSELKHOZNADZORin the Chelyabinsk region, since the beginning of 2021, 44 cases of animal rabies (2 cows, 19 foxes, 11 dogs, 12 cats) in 41 disadvantaged points have been registered in the Chelyabinsk region. For the same period in 2020, 40 cases of animal rabies were detected in 40 disadvantaged points.
