The Thai government sees Australia as a promising market for finished duck products.
Thai Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Thongplew Kongjun discussed EXPORT opportunities with Australian Ambassador Allan McKinnon.
If Thai duck exporters manage to gain access to the Australian market, they are ready to supply 1,000 tons of finished MEAT per year. Currently, the largest importer of Thai duck farm products is the European Union. Since 2016, the volume of exports of this type of poultry has exceeded 7.3 thousand tons. This was told by Tongplyu Kongyun to the interlocutor during the talks.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. McKinnon noted that the decision will depend on the results of the audit of supplier companies: poultry meat must comply with Australian biological safety standards.
