One of the largest reindeer-breeding cooperatives in the Murmansk region, the Tundra SHPK, sent a test batch of reindeer MEAT to the Republic of Finland. 321 reindeer carcasses with a total weight of 8.5 tons were transported across the Finnish border.
Earlier in December 2020, the agricultural enterprise, with the support of the regional government, received a certificate of certification of products on the European market ("Euro number"), which gives the right to EXPORT its own products to the countries of the European Union.
In accordance with the agreements reached with the Finnish company Lapin Nahka Oy, in 2021 SHPK "Tundra" plans to export up to 50 tons of venison, which will allow the company to expand sales channels, significantly increase revenue and profitability of production, as well as provide employment and stable wages. pay for their employees. The organization's plans for the long term are to increase the volume of exports of its own products to 100 tons per year.
A similar permit was obtained in February of this year by Reindeer LLC (reindeer meat processor at the Olenevod SHPK). The company plans to start export deliveries in 2022.
Thus, the Murmansk region will become the second subject of the Russian Federation after the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug to supply venison to the countries of the European Union.
