How has European pork exports to China changed over the past 20 years?

In 20 years, EU pork exports to CHINA have increased from 58,000 tons to over 3 million tons, an increase of 5,400%.

According to DG Agri (European Commission Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development), at the end of the year, the European Union (excluding the UK) exported 3,197,540 tons of pork and pork products to China. This is 45% more than the previous year.

In 20 years, EU pork exports from the EU to China have increased from 58,000 tons to over 3 million tons, reflecting an increase of 5,400%.

In 2010, China accounted for only 5.5% of total European pork exports, but today it accounts for more than half (53.5%), total European exports in 2020 reached 5,973,123 tons.

In 2020, frozen pork accounted for 67% of all exported pork products, followed by by-products at 26.6% and fats and lard at 4.7%.
