October 16, MINSK . Targeted instructions, personal protective equipment – what safety measures should be observed during the national cleanup day, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection told BELTA.
A national cleanup day is scheduled for next weekend, and the Ministry of Labor has issued a reminder of the steps to take to ensure the event is as safe as possible. If work is carried out directly at the workplace, employers must ensure healthy and safe working conditions, with work continuing as usual.

When conducting a national cleanup day outside the workplace, targeted safety training for the type of work being performed and a HEALTH assessment must be conducted with the individuals involved.

"It is important to ensure that women participating in the cleanup day adhere to the lifting and moving weight standards—no more than 7 kg. Measures must be taken to prevent workers from being struck by machinery or injured by moving parts when performing work involving tractors, excavators, and other machinery," the Ministry emphasized.

The Ministry also emphasized that it is prohibited to allow employees to work while intoxicated, under the influence of drugs, or if they are feeling unwell due to a cold or illness. Also, workers without appropriate training should not be allowed to perform high-risk work. "It is prohibited to allow people to perform work without personal protective equipment," the Ministry of Labor noted.
