Ural scientists will prepare the second graduation of professional farmers

In the Sverdlovsk region, the acceptance of applications for the "School of the Farmer" starts. Classes are scheduled to start on October 20, 2021.

The Farmer's School is an all-Russian educational project, the purpose of which is to teach how to create and run a profitable business in agriculture. The project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Agro-Industrial Complex and Consumer Market of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Russian Agricultural Bank.

The course program includes a theoretical and practical module and is suitable for both novice farmers and, in order to improve their skills, entrepreneurs who have already started their own business. The training is designed for 2 months and involves gaining knowledge in economics, management, marketing, personnel issues, jurisprudence and, of course, specialized branches of agriculture - dairy and beef cattle breeding, crop production.

The main part of the training sessions will be conducted by the leading scientists of the Ural Federal District: Ural State Agrarian University (UrSAU) and the Ural Federal Agricultural Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UrFARC Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences).

“We have seriously approached the development of the curriculum, which involves the assimilation of a large amount of information, including also a practical block. Novice farmers will undergo free training at the Ural Agrarian University for two months. The 253-hour professional retraining program includes not only lectures and field trips to agricultural enterprises, but also the development of your own business plan for creating and developing a profitable agricultural business. The classes will be conducted by leading scientists of the university, production workers and business representatives - people who have rich scientific and practical experience behind them," said Olga Gennadievna Loretts, Rector of USAU, DOCTOR of Biological Sciences, Professor.

To gain practical experience, project participants will visit the largest agricultural enterprises in the region, where they will get acquainted with modern technologies and gain invaluable experience from the region's leading agricultural producers.

All interested agricultural producers (heads of peasant (farmer) households registered in the Sverdlovsk region), as well as those who are just planning to start entrepreneurial activities in the agro-industrial complex in the Sverdlovsk region, can apply to participate in the Farmer's School. To do this, you need to fill out a questionnaire and send it to ChirkovaML@sverdlovsk.rshb.ru

“The first students of the School of the Farmer in the Sverdlovsk region successfully apply the knowledge gained in the project to develop their enterprises. This project allows everyone who wants to devote their lives to the development of agriculture, competently and professionally build a business on the ground, so it is of great interest to both existing farmers and those who are just planning to start their own business,” commented the DIRECTOR of the Sverdlovsk Rosselkhozbank Tatyana Nikolaevna Shilova.

Recall that the School of the Farmer project was launched in the Sverdlovsk Region in January 2021. During this time, 20 agricultural producers of the region became its participants. All of them were trained at USAU, defended their business plans and received diplomas of completion of the course. And the three best became the owners of cash prizes from the Russian Agricultural Bank.

“I am an experienced farmer, I have been engaged in animal husbandry for more than 20 years. But I came to study with great pleasure. The knowledge that the teachers gave us is very important in order to competently and efficiently conduct our business. A lot is changing in agriculture, new technologies are being introduced. Each farmer must constantly add something new to his luggage, ”a graduate of the first stream of the school, the HEAD of the KFH Anatoly Khudyakov, shared his impressions.
