Komi Ministry of Agriculture plans to attract mass consumers through the hospitality industry

This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Consumer Market of the region Denis Sharonov in the State Council of the Republic of Komi during the defense of the sectoral program for the development of agriculture.

Agricultural products produced in the republic have a high prime cost. it is difficult for it to compete with imported, not to mention stable supplies outside the region. The outflow of the population complicates the situation.

At the same time, natural resources have an inexhaustible potential for attracting a mass consumer to the republic, which will ensure demand not only in the agro-industrial complex, but also in other sectors of our economy. We are talking about the hospitality industry. The driver in the development of this area will be fishing, agro-, eco-, ethno-, and many other types of tourism and recreation.

“The Ministry initiated the creation of the federal target program “Arctic Salmon”. It is aimed at the restoration and rational use of aquatic biological resources in the northern rivers. It is planned that it will also include measures for the construction of fish breeding facilities, fish protection, the creation of the infrastructure necessary for the development of tourism (guest houses, roads, airports, mobile communications, etc.). Neighboring regions also expressed their interest in participating: the NAO and the Arkhangelsk region,” the minister noted.

The Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA, the Federal Agency for Fisheries, VNIRO, Moscow State University have already joined in the development of the program.
