Ukraine is preparing a new package of sanctions against individuals and legal entities working for the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC). President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in his daily address to citizens, the video was published on his TELEGRAM channel.

“We are also preparing new sanctions decisions regarding individuals and companies working in the military-industrial complex. <...> Soon these decisions of ours will be made public,” he said.

Ukraine is preparing "powerful steps that consolidate partners," the HEAD of state added.

Since the beginning of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, Kyiv has imposed several packages of sanctions against Russian politicians, entrepreneurs and other individuals, as well as companies. United RUSSIA, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party, Just Russia  - For Truth, New People, the Central Election Commission (CEC), Interros and Rosbank, VTB structures and other organizations fell under them.

Zelensky's decree, published in mid-April, provided for restrictive measures against Yandex, VK, Rambler, and Gazprom structures. The daughter of the Minister of Defense of Russia, Ksenia Shoigu, as well as Russian athletes: Svetlana Khorkina, Igor Akinfeev, Ilya Averbukh, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, fell under the sanctions .

Ukrainian sanctions provide for the blocking of assets, as well as a ban on transactions and operations.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly called the sanctions of Kyiv and Western countries illegal. Moscow believes that they can be introduced only with the approval of the UN Security Council.
