The system of certificates for vaccination against CORONAVIRUS infection covid-19 can start working in the European Union in June, said the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

“We have to make it possible to travel to and within the EU. I am pleased to announce that the legal and technical preparations for the launch of the EU travel certificate system, vaccination certificates are in full swing, so that it can be operational as early as June,” von der Leyen said at a press conference following an informal meeting of heads of state and government EU in Portugal.

According to her, a political agreement on the launch of such a system can be reached before the end of May. And it will make travel possible for those who can provide "unfalsifiable evidence" that they:

or have been ill with COVID-19 and have antibodies to the infection; or vaccinated; or not infected with COVID-19, as confirmed by a negative, mutually recognized test.

“We want a safe and enjoyable summer for all Europeans,” von der Leyen wrote on her Twitter page.
