Complaints about rising prices and the lack of fish from restaurateurs and businesses specializing in fish products began to arrive last week. However, manufacturers and suppliers have only just begun to talk openly about the problem.

The lack of fish in the wholesale market was fixed by restaurateurs (including roll and sushi producers). They faced a lack of red fish in the first place. it is impossible to order imported salmon in the required quantity, due to the termination of its supplies to RUSSIA. As for other types of fish, they have doubled in price. For example, even such a non-elite segment as pollock has risen in price by 40 rubles since the beginning of the year. per kg.

“Take a simple example - the salmon that we traditionally bought from the Faroe Islands is gone. Murmansk salmon appeared, which he compensated and, for some reason, suddenly, the guys who catch Murmansk salmon decided that it would be 100% more expensive. Can anyone explain to me where such a price comes from? ”, - says restaurateur Oleg Oshchepkov.

According to the restaurateur, most of the fish sold in Russia is grown in Murmansk. However, almost all fish seed is dependent on imports. The fry were brought from Norway. And the fish that was grown in St. Petersburg are supplies from Denmark. Local producers also report the absence of this product, and prices have also risen in this regard.

Also, on the rights of anonymity, market players say that now there are problems with the supply of food for adults. There is an analogue on the Russian market, but it is one and a half times more expensive, and the quality, according to market participants, is worse. Now one of the Permian fish productions has completely removed the grown-up individuals for sale, only fry live on the remnants of food. And as noted in the farm, fodder products are left for about 3 months.

As for deliveries, here the import of fish to Russia decreased by a third. In particular, it is tuna and salmon. Some of the products are planned to be replaced with domestic ones, but according to representatives of the industry, the difference in quality may be obvious. However, suppliers have not yet observed a complete shortage of goods.

“Absolutely the entire range is available, prices have risen in price for imported production, at least by 30%. Prices for our products have not increased significantly, but they have now begun to fall. The fish is all completely, at least we have. There are no problems with delivery and logistics. I understand that suppliers have large stocks, so we have not even been told anything that there will be problems, ”added the owner of FishMarket Sergey Petukhov.
