Cinemas will be included in the list of organizations that can be visited on the "Pushkin card". With its help, it will be possible to pay for tickets only for domestic films, RBC reports with reference to a document published on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
The explanatory note to the project, which was prepared by the Ministry of Culture, notes that the initiative "will not entail additional costs from the federal budget."
DIRECTOR of Tatarkino GBUK RT Milyausha Aytuganova told RBC Tatarstan that since the launch of the Pushkin Card, viewers have repeatedly asked if it can be used in a cinema.
“The cinemas of Tatarstan have been waiting for this decision. We expect a large influx of young people to screenings of domestic cinema, especially to the expected premieres. We have seen the reaction of both visitors and cultural institutions to this innovation, and we believe that for cinemas, to a greater extent, even for municipal ones, the Pushkin Card is an excellent solution and a way out of the current situation due to covid-19 . The industry has suffered losses due to the introduction of QR codes. We hope that with the Pushkin Card, cinemas will be able to return to their previous turnover,” Aituganova said.
The press service of the KARO cinema chain also reported that the Pushkin Card will be available for visiting the cinema, but only Russian films can be watched with it.
