President Vladimir Putin signed a decree approving an updated national security strategy. The previous version of the strategy was released in 2015.

The new edition lists the preservation of the people of Russia and the strengthening of traditional values as a national priority, and among the ways to ensure economic security is the reduction of the use of the DOLLAR and the production of domestic vaccines. The draft US defense budget for fiscal year 2022 did not include new sanctions against Russia.

Although the introduction of new sanctions seems less likely than in the past two years, this cannot yet be ruled out, experts warned. In particular, restrictions may be included in the Senate version of the document, for example, at the suggestion of Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who criticizes President Joe Biden, they noted. So far, only one of the US House Appropriations Committee's subcommittees dealing with defense affairs has approved the Pentagon's budget proposal. Later, the document will be considered by the committee itself, then it will be discussed in the committee on the armed forces, after which the draft will be put to the vote of the House of Representatives. In the past, congressmen regularly passed anti-Russian sanctions within the framework of the military budget. They are also contained in the US defense budget for the current fiscal year and relate to companies providing insurance and certification services,

Russia prepares for influenza vaccination in parallel with covid-19 vaccination

This year, the timing of the flu vaccination campaign, which traditionally takes place in the fall, may be adjusted to distribute the burden on the healthcare system as efficiently as possible, a source in the pharmaceutical market told RBC. However, sources close to the Moscow mayor's office say that while there is no information about the transfer, it means that the campaign will most likely take place at the usual time (as a rule, it starts in early September).

Vaccines from Russian manufacturers account for about 90% of all drugs on this market: Fort, NPO Microgen (both are part of the National Immunobiological Company), Petrovax and the St. Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums (SPbNIIVS). Demand for influenza vaccination has continued to rise since last year. SPbNIIVS explained this by the growing confidence of people in vaccination in the context of the current CORONAVIRUS pandemic.
