Minsk . Farms in the
Minsk region produced more than 2.1 million tons of
milk in 2023. A BELTA correspondent was told about this by the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.
The average milk yield per cow for the year was 6.6 thousand kg (+353 kg). The leaders in this indicator are Nesvizh district - more than 9 thousand kg, Smolevichi district - 8.9 thousand kg, Dzerzhinsky - 8.6 thousand kg, Minsk - 8.2 thousand kg.
Livestock and poultry production in the Minsk region at the end of 2023 amounted to 511.8 thousand tons. The average daily gain
of cattle was 671 g (+12 g by 2022).
Last year, farms in the central region produced 357.8 thousand calves (+4.8 thousand heads). In total, the cattle population in the region amounted to 934.5 thousand animals, of which 322.8 thousand are dairy cows.
