20 August, Minsk . The Grodno inter-district department of the Investigative Committee is establishing the circumstances of the hooliganism committed in the regional center. This was told to BELTA by the Investigative Committee.

On the evening of 14 August, the police were informed that an unknown person threw a knife from the balcony, which hit a 76-year-old resident of Grodno. An investigative task force was sent to the scene. The investigator examined the scene, questioned the victim and witnesses, and seized two kitchen knives. The police quickly identified the hooligan. He turned out to be a 41-year-old local resident.

The man said that he went out onto the balcony to check the kitchen knives. After examining the blades, the Grodno resident considered the utensils unsuitable for use and threw them from the balcony. The handle of one of the knives hit a pensioner who was passing by the suspect's house. The victim received a hematoma.

It was established that the hooligan's act was preceded by drinking alcohol. An examination of the defendant's personality showed that he had previously been brought to criminal liability for evading reimbursement of expenses incurred by the state for the maintenance of children.
