Out of jealousy, her partner brutally beat a resident of Baranovichi for more than a year

January 31, Minsk . A resident of Baranovichi reported to the police about torture by her partner, which lasted more than a year. The reason for the cruel treatment of the woman was unreasonable jealousy, BelTA was told by the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.

The duty department of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Baranovichi City Executive Committee received a message from a 45-year-old resident of the city about systematic torture. The applicant explained that in the period from March 2022 to May 2023, the 42-year-old cohabitant severely beat her several times, hit her with his palms and fists, and pushed her hard. Moreover, each time he was drunk. The accused fully admitted his guilt, repented, and also said that the reason for such cruel treatment of his cohabitant was causeless jealousy.

A similar incident occurred with a 41-year-old resident of Baranavichy, who contacted the duty station with a complaint of domestic violence. A local resident explained that when she returned from work, a scandal broke out with her 43-year-old husband, who was in a state ofalcohol intoxication . The man began to find fault with his wife, behave aggressively towards her and push her. This behavior was repeated many times throughout the year.

Both victims turned to the police for help.

“In the first month of 2024 , 44 family brawlers were brought to administrative responsibility, for the entire 2023 - 798. There are 530 citizens on the preventive register of the Baranovichi City Department of Internal Affairs,” said Deputy Head of the City Department of Internal Affairs Igor Erokhin.

The police noted that domestic violence has many names - family, domestic, partner. What unites it is that violence occurs between people in close relationships. In the vast majority of cases, these are current and former spouses. Violence deforms the personality of the victim; she stops reacting to the situation the way a prosperous person would react.
