Earlier, a group of US senators led by Republican Marco Rubio proposed to impose sanctions on any organization that insures tankers for the transport of oil or LNG from Russia to China.

Rubio pointed out that China supports military action in Ukraine when it buys energy from Russia. Therefore, in his opinion, Chinese state-owned companies should also face restrictions.

At the same time, Bloomberg wrote that the US Congress is unlikely to agree on the bill, as its provisions run counter to the policy of President Joe Biden to maintain oil supplies.
