January 25, Brest. The Brest region increased the volume of exports of
MEAT and dairy products in 2023. This was announced by the Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Shchuplenkov during a meeting of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, BelTA reports.
“The region’s agro-industrial complex finished last year with good results. The growth rate of gross agricultural output in all categories of farms amounted to 103.9%, including 106.5% in agricultural organizations,” noted Anatoly Shchuplenkov. “We were the first to cross the milestone in terms of
MILK yield per cow - 7 thousand kg and milk production - 2 million tons. Still in first place in the republic in terms of growth rates of milk production, milking herd productivity, marketability and quality of milk, average daily weight gain of pigs. In second place - in weight gain cattle."
In particular, processing enterprises increased the production of main types of dairy and meat products by more than 10%.
Food products bearing the Brest brand are well known abroad. Thus, last year the
EXPORT volumes of cheeses and cottage cheese, butter, milk and cream, sausages, beef, rapeseed oil, and vegetables increased.
In the Brest region, last year the area for winter barley was doubled, for
SUGAR beets by 10%, and for flax by 3%. The year turned out to be ambiguous in terms of climatic conditions, but farmers were able to obtain a record harvest (in terms of volume and yield) of grain and rapeseed, and increased production volumes of sugar beets, potatoes and vegetables. In agriculture, more than 2 million tons of feed units of grass feed were prepared. Chairman of the State Control Committee Vasily Gerasimov drew attention to this aspect. He emphasized that the quality of feed affects other indicators in livestock farming. Regulatory authorities identified violations in individual farms while checking the quality of prepared feed. “Thanks to the additional financial support of the
HEAD of state, 33 thousand hectares of reclaimed land were put into agricultural production in 2023, which is almost equal to the volumes for the previous five-year period. The order to increase the volume of work three times was completed, in fact - almost eight times. This year we plan for the volume of reclamation work to be maintained at the level of 2023,” noted Anatoly Shchuplenkov.
The Chairman of
the KGC also focused on land reclamation and equipment repair.
it should be ready by April 1st.
