Belarus and UAE expand range of exchange trading

May 22, MINSK . The list of goods involved in exchange trade between Belarus and the United Arab Emirates has expanded again. Now, in addition to sawn timber, dry MILK and feed additives, business entities of the two countries have begun trading in textile products. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange.

Following the results of the next EXPORT trading session, the first deal was concluded on the sale of cottonized flax fiber of Belarusian production to the UAE market. The buyer was an Emirati product and service holding, one of whose activities is the manufacture of textiles - workwear, bed linen, kitchen towels and other products made of flax.

"Throughout 2025, residents of the United Arab Emirates have firmly held fifth place among the largest importers of Belarusian goods at exchange trades. This is also due to the gradual expansion of the sphere of interests of Emirati buyers. At first, it was only sawn timber, then dry milk and feed additives, and now flax fiber. Of course, such attention to the Belarusian exchange market has a positive effect on the dynamics of transaction volumes. For example, in January - April of this year, export deliveries to the UAE reached almost $ 30 million. Compared with the same period last year, the growth will be almost sevenfold," the press service reported.

As of May 22, 2025, 35 companies from the UAE are accredited at BUCE.

JSC "Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange" was established in 2004. The first trades took place in June 2005.
