Manufacturers' selling prices for chicken MEAT in RUSSIA began to decline, Izvestia writes. The HEAD of the National Union of Poultry Breeders Sergey Lakhtyukhov told the newspaper about this.

At the same time, according to Rosstat, as of April 12, the price of chicken meat increased by 14.6% from January to 165.7 rubles per 1 kg. The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed to the publication that in mid-April the growth in selling prices slowed down, but this did not affect retail prices. Over the past 2 months, they have grown by more than 10%.

The department said that in such a situation, the government will be forced to regulate the prices of eggs and meat. The fact that the authorities will take control of retail prices for these products, it became known back in March.

Even earlier, in February, the newspaper reported that poultry meat producers recommended that retailers raise prices by 10%.
