Agrofirm "Tolkinskaya" is going to breed rabbits in Yamal

The founders of the agricultural enterprise, established in the village of Tolka in 2006, opted for the Gray Giant breed, gaining up to nine or more kilograms of weight. Such animals have high productivity, disease resistance and high adaptability to cold climates.

So far, the future farm contains only 15 individuals. They will spend the summer season in pits, in conditions as close as possible to their natural habitat. By autumn, rabbits are transferred to cages in order to come to grips with their breeding and the formation of a herd, says Alexei Shishkov, DIRECTOR of Agrofirma Tolkinskaya LLC. According to him, in the summer, experts are investigating the demand of the local population for rabbit MEAT. it is planned to deliver it to Taiga Paradise stores, and if sales are stable, then to retail outlets in Ratta and Krasnoselkup.
