May 11, Gomel. In the Zhlobin district, a lawless person made an accident in which one person died and two were injured, BelTA was told in the department for agitation and propaganda of the traffic police department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Gomel regional executive committee.

The fatal accident happened on May 10 at about 11:50 p.m. on the 7th km of the P149 Zhlobin-Svetlogorsk highway. A 35-year-old man who does not have a license, according to preliminary information, was in a state of intoxication and got behind the wheel of a Volkswagen. The car served as a taxi, but the driver himself was not a taxi driver. On the way, on the rounding of the carriageway, he lost control, slid into a ditch, and the car overturned.

The 34-year-old passenger, who was riding in the back passenger seat, died at the scene from his injuries. The driver and a 24-year-old female passenger were taken to the hospital with injuries of varying severity.

"None of the victims was wearing a seat belt. Only the passenger in the front seat was not injured in the accident - he was the only one in the car who was wearing it," the UGAI said.
