Removing branches and removing debris. How in Minsk and the region they restore order on earth

Topic news Every year, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection holds an action in Belarus to restore order on the land, improve the landscaping and plant trees. This time it runs from March 1 to May 8. With the onset of warmer weather, cleanup and landscaping work affects every corner of the country. Together with representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources, BELTA correspondents looked at how they are putting things in order and beautifying the area in MINSK and the Minsk region.

According to the deputy HEAD of the Department for Coordination of Control Activities of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Vladimir Lementovich, the main work of the services is focused on pruning dry branches, processing them into chips, as well as removing leaves and debris. “In April, they will gradually begin landscaping settlements, in particular, they will plant young trees and shrubs. We just need to wait for favorable weather conditions,” he noted.
During the campaign period, territorial bodies of the Ministry of Natural Resources also carry out control and analytical activities. Particular attention is paid to public areas in populated areas, as well as areas along highways.

“Preventive work is being carried out with citizens. Thus, if a person has committed any violation of environmental legislation for the first time, we try to apply preventive response measures. For example, in 2023, over 9 thousand people were exempted from administrative liability. Moreover, if people repeatedly violate law , then we take appropriate measures and impose a fine. In particular, last year over 3 thousand citizens were brought to justice. At the same time, people continue to harm the environment, and in 2023 the damage from it amounted to over Br10 million," - said Vladimir Lementovich.
It is planned that during the period of the action to restore order in each district of Minsk, a plan for the work necessary to carry out the work will be determined. They can be performed in public areas, in public recreation areas, on railway tracks and in other places.

After the snow melts, you can see a lot of garbage in the forested areas of the capital. This is exactly what is being dealt with in the Partizansky district. Nowadays, frame streets, parks and squares are mainly cleaned from last year's leaves, sand and debris.
“About 45 people are involved in the cleaning, plus there are separate people for wood harvesting and tree pruning. We still have 820 hectares to clean - this includes urban areas, as well as the Kolodishchi landfill. At the moment, 40% of the areas have already been cleared. By the end of the month or even earlier "We will complete this work, after which we will begin landscaping. "Zelenstroy" plans to plant 250 trees, and the housing and communal services have their own plans," emphasized Sergei Gerasimchik, deputy DIRECTOR of "Zelenstroy Partizansky District".

Representatives of the Zavodsky district are not far behind. The collection of garbage, municipal waste, leaves and dry vegetation has also resumed here. In addition, the road network is being repaired after winter use.

“Business entities of all forms of ownership are putting things in order in their assigned territories. After the main work, we plan to paint small architectural forms, landscaping and other types of improvement,” added the head of the operational control department for the Zavodsky, Oktyabrsky and Sovetsky districts of Minsk of the Minsk City Committee of Natural Resources and environmental protection Igor Kapach.
As Tatyana Tkacheva, foreman of the landscaping site at Zelenstroy Zavodsky District, said, there are problem areas in the area where cleaning is required more often than usual.

“The most problems are with the private sector. For example, people without a fixed place of residence come to this section of Maloye Stiklevo Street. They bring mattresses here, drinkALCOHOL and leaving trash behind. Our task is to remove all this. In addition, in our area there is a Bezymianny stream, on both sides of which there are private houses. Their residents clean their plots and gardens and subsequently take all this garbage out into the green area. They also throw out household waste and construction waste,” shared Tatyana Tkacheva.

At the same time, the Ministry of Natural Resources notes: the problem with landfills is being solved. Positive dynamics are present, and prevention gives good results. People hear requests and see the consequences. There are still places where serious work remains in this direction, but in general, citizens are gradually beginning to realize their responsibility in matters of environmental protection.

The establishment of order on earth is also seriously monitored in the Minsk region. Thus, in Dzerzhinsk, after the winter period, the authorities are organizing work on improvement with industrial enterprises and business entities responsible for certain areas of the city. Organic waste is collected here - leaves, branches, as well as household garbage. At the same time, there are a number of urban public areas that are put in order by municipal services.
"In addition, we are equipping various recreation areas for residents of our city . We are now finishing the landscaping of the park near the district executive committee building, where there will be playgrounds and sports grounds, benches and bicycle parking. There is also a designated area for a cafe, and a video surveillance and lighting system is provided to maintain order. We plan to complete the main types of work in this area in April. All that remains is landscaping - we want to plant more than 3 thousand flowers. Such locations will be created in the future, including in the satellite town of Fanipol,” said Deputy Chairman of the Dzerzhinsk District Executive Committee Denis Prokopchik.

Head of the Dzerzhinsk Regional Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Dmitry Tereshko emphasized that in Dzerzhinsk and Fanipol per year On average, about 5-7 thousand trees are planted, as well as about 10 thousand shrubs. This year it is planned to spend about Br900 thousand on landscaping.
"Information is now being collected on how many plantings Dzerzhinsk and other settlements need. After which, seedlings will be purchased and planted in accordance with urban planning documentation within the framework of the month. Citizens and legal entities will be involved in the work,” stated Dmitry Tereshko.

He also drew attention to the fact that in recent years the population has been actively taking part in landscaping and independently taking the initiative. “Last fall, many people called us and asked: where can we get seedlings, where To plant trees? This is especially true for people from rural areas. At the same time, some legal entities buy seedlings at their own expense and landscape flower beds near their territories,” the head of the district inspection assured.

The authorities' future plans include developing a recreation area near the Netechka River. They want to build a sports center on the shore, where there will be courts and playgrounds, as well as landscaping of the area.

“In addition, in Fanipol it is planned to plant a city park to replace the old one, which was destroyed by winds in 2020-2022. A general project has already been developed. It is planned to plant more than 1 hectare of plantings. We will work during 2024-2025, since the volumes are large. To work We have already started - some of the trees have been planted,” said Dmitry Tereshko.

The bad weather also affected the roadsides of the Dzerzhinsky district. Thus, on the section of the Fanipol - Pobednoye road, windfall and windfall trees are being removed.

“We are eliminating the consequences of the hurricane - we are cleaning up fallen trees in the right-of-way. Since the volume of work is very large, we involve specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and even military personnel. Our organization currently employs about 20 people. They crush branches and wood and transport them to the production base. So, "To date, we have harvested 128 cubic meters of wood. We use it to heat our production facilities and repair shops. We hope to cope with all the consequences of the bad weather by the end of March," concluded Nikolai Kishkurno, head of DRSU No. 210 of the Minskobldorstroy Municipal Unitary Enterprise.
