June 29, MINSK . The Prosecutor General's Office has sent a high-profile criminal case to COURT against a 26-year-old driver who caused the death of a pedestrian girl, BelTA informs with reference to the media relations and editorial department of the oversight agency.

However, he was soon discovered by a police squad one block from the scene, where he was washing blood off himself in a puddle. Eyewitnesses of the accident identified him as a Subaru driver based on external signs and outerwear.

The detainee denied guilt, referring to the fact that someone with the use of physical violence took possession of the keys and the car shortly before the accident. Despite the warning about criminal liability for knowingly false denunciation, the defendant wrote a statement with a request to bring the unknown hijacker to justice.

The investigation of the criminal case was completed by the main investigative department of the Investigative Committee.

The prosecutor's office noted that the study of the case materials showed that its circumstances were investigated comprehensively, fully and objectively. The qualification of illegal actions is correct and substantiated by the collected evidence.

The defendant was charged with violating the rules of the road in the stateALCOHOL intoxication , which negligently caused the death of a pedestrian, as well as a knowingly false denunciation of a crime.

There are no grounds for changing or canceling the measure of restraint applied earlier to the driver in the form of detention.
