Drunk bus passenger attacked customs officer at Benyakoni checkpoint

August 9, MINSK . A drunk bus passenger attacked a customs officer at the Benyakoni checkpoint, BelTA learned from the State Customs Committee.

"The regular bus was driving through the Benyakoni checkpoint. A 45-year-old passenger, being in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication , refused to comply with the rules for crossing the border established by the customs legislation and attacked an official of the Grodno regional customs in the performance of his official duties. The physical actions of the man were immediately stopped by the employees of the checkpoint. The hooligan was taken into custody as a suspect in the commission of a criminally punishable act," the State Customs Committee said.

The Voronovsky District Department of the Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case on the grounds of corpus delicti under Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code. The sanction of the article provides for punishment up to imprisonment for up to 7 years.
