September 20, Gomel. A fatal accident occurred in the Rogachev district, BelTA learned from the agitation and propaganda department of the traffic police department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Gomel regional executive committee.

The 33-year-old driver was driving a Volkswagen Passat on the 7th km of the road H4532 "Rogachev - Ostrov" on September 19 at about 19.00. According to preliminary information from the UGAI, the man got behind the wheel after drinking ALCOHOL. “On the way, I chose an unsafe speed, lost control and drove into a ditch, where, having rolled over several times, I hit a tree. Due to the fact that the driver was not wearing a seat belt, he flew out of the car and died from his injuries on the scene of an accident," the regional traffic police said.

The UGAI once again draws the attention of motorists: “It is strictly forbidden to get behind the wheel after drinking alcohol. Under the influence of alcohol, the driver is not able to adequately assess the traffic situation, his driving style is accompanied by significant speeding and abrupt maneuvers. As a rule, this always ends in tragedy and often - fatal." They also reminded about the use of seat belts by both the driver and passengers.
