November 29, Vitebsk. Two men in Orsha, in a state of intoxication, set fire to the car of an acquaintance. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent in the information and public relations department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

The incident took place in the private sector of Orsha late at night on October 14th. In the courtyard of one of the houses, a new Chevrolet Niva car caught fire. The fire completely destroyed the car, the amount of damage was estimated at Br25 thousand.

Experts found that the fire did not happen by itself. Employees of the criminal investigation department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and their colleagues from the Orsha District Department of Internal Affairs began searching for the perpetrators. "As a result of painstaking work, police officers identified two suspects in the crime. They turned out to be non-working citizens: a 37-year-old resident of the regional center and a 52-year-old man from the Gorki district," the Department of Internal Affairs noted.

As it turned out, the suspects drank ALCOHOL together the day before. During the feast, they started talking about a common 35-year-old acquaintance whom they envied and experienced personal dislike. According to the men, he needed to be punished for his inappropriate lifestyle. Which is what the drinking companions decided to do without fail.

The men came to the private house of the Orsha resident, climbed over the fence. Then one of them set fire to a new car standing in the yard. After that, the uninvited guests hurried to hide.

Arsonists became defendants in a criminal case for the deliberate destruction of someone else's property. They face up to 10 years in prison for the crime.

It is known that one of the men previously had a criminal record for theft.
