These days, the farmers of Dagestan began to go out into the fields, doing spring field work. One of the first to start work was Kavkaz LLC of the Tarumovsky district, which demonstrates an innovative format in many areas of agricultural production.
According to Nurudin Omarov, HEAD of the farm, they have been actively engaged in agriculture in recent years, more than 1,000 hectares of rice engineering systems have been built within the framework of the relevant state program, and other grain crops are also cultivated. So, this year they plan to sow rice on an area of about 1200 hectares. As a fodder base for their livestock, they grow winter and spring crops. In particular, in autumn last year, winter cereals were sown on an area of 1800 hectares, another 300 hectares were prepared for sowing spring barley.
“Today, we put issues of increasing efficiency at the forefront of our business activities. We were convinced that in agriculture this can be achieved only by ensuring an increase in soil fertility. We were convinced that it is necessary to pay due attention to the application of manure, which is the most valuable organic fertilizer, to the fields. In this regard, we purchased a special organic fertilizer spreader. Organized work on warehousing and storage of manure in order to obtain high-quality fertilizer. This results in great savings for the economy, since less mineral fertilizers need to be applied. We have already started adding organics to some fields. We expect to implement a broad program aimed at improving soil fertility,” said the head of the enterprise.
According to the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Sharip Sharipov, the soils of Dagestan are characterized by low natural fertility, the humus content does not exceed 2-2.5%. The introduction of organic fertilizers, along with the replenishment of soils with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, significantly improves the structure and physical and mechanical properties of soils, and supports the work of microflora. At least 6 million tons of manure and dung are accumulated in our republic annually, and their rational use on our soils will significantly improve crop yields. Today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan launched an explanatory work so that the farms again pay attention to the benefits of this valuable resource.
“It is gratifying that Kavkaz LLC, which is one of the developing farms, has now taken up this area of agricultural technology. This practice of one of the leaders of the agro-industrial complex will serve as an example for our other farms. This is relevant, including in connection with the release of the federal law on livestock by-products. The law allows farmers to profitably dispose of manure and litter - to receive organic fertilizers and apply them to the fields, which will significantly increase the efficiency of economic activity," Sharip Sharipov said.
