Lipetsk enterprise plans to expand the production of organic products

Lipetsk farmers were told about new opportunities in the production of organic products this week.
The seminar, which was held at the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Agroindustrial Personnel, was attended by employees of the Department for the Development of Organic and Green Products of Roskachestvo, the Organica Foundation, Voronezh State Agrarian University. Representatives of companies engaged in the production of organic products also shared their experience.
The Law on Organic Products came into force on January 1, 2020. At the moment, according to the Organica Foundation, 231 enterprises from 55 regions of RUSSIA are producers of organic products. The range of organic products exceeds a thousand items. The leader in the number of certified enterprises is the Central Federal District. There are about 80 organic producers there. In the Lipetsk region, two enterprises currently have certificates - Progress JSC, whose organic product line is represented by four types of baby food purees, and Agronom-Sad LLC. An employee of the latter, Alexei Solomakhin, told the audience about the experience of producing organic apples.
In 2017, 20 hectares of orchards were allocated for organic cultivation of Imrus variety apples. In 2018, the number of plots for organic crop production was increased for seedlings of the Liberty variety. At the moment, more than 40 hectares in Agronom-Sad are certified for organic production. Another 50 hectares are undergoing a conversion period, since it is possible to obtain the status of organic products only three years after the start of certification. This time is expected for a full transition from inorganic to organic methods of management. Today, two varieties, "Imrus" and "Liberty", have certificates confirming compliance with organic production standards. In 2022, Agronom Sad LLC received more than 400 tons of organic apples. This year, the yield of organic products should increase to 1.3 thousand tons.
Also at the seminar, they talked about projects to support producers of organic products, which exist both in the country as a whole and in individual regions, about innovative technologies in organic animal husbandry and biotechnologies in organic agriculture.
