Two experimental fields were planted last year with the seeds of the Belarusian republican association "Belsemena". In the Dankovsky region, winter wheat varieties "Elegy" and "Aurora" were sown, and in the Lipetsk region - winter rapeseed "Zinit" and "Vitov".
What kind of harvest these crops brought, representatives of Belsemyan came to see. Their visit to the Lipetsk Region began on July 14 with a meeting with Vice Governor Igor Kremnev.
“I am well acquainted with the agriculture of the Republic of Belarus, I have visited advanced agricultural enterprises more than once,” said Igor Kremnev. “They use modern technology. We have always strived to learn from their best practices. And now, when the issue of import substitution has arisen, cooperation with Belarusian agricultural enterprises is of strategic importance. We are very interested in this partnership.”
"Belsemena" have an experimental station. They produce original and elite seeds, conduct applied scientific research, and have commercial seed production. Belarusian partners noted that last year 375 tons of buckwheat seeds were delivered to the republic through the Lipetsk region.
“Many thanks for the elite seeds,” said Maxim Karpuk, General DIRECTOR of Belsemyan. – We have had a drought in the Republic of Belarus for the last year, so it was problematic to bring out our own buckwheat seeds. Today, the entire Gomel region is sown with buckwheat seeds from the Lipetsk region. We have a photo report, the seeds are wonderful.”
According to Maxim Karpuk, a dry summer with rare rains forces seed producers to adapt to difficult weather conditions and engage in selection. Seeds resistant to dry weather are also interesting for Lipchans.
Today, the Belsemyan delegation will meet with researchers and agricultural producers on the territory of the Privolye-1 farm in the Lipetsk region and in the village of Pruzhinki. Another meeting will be held with farmers from Terbunsky, Volovsky and Dolgorukovsky districts.
