Specialists of the Bashkir institution "Altyn Solok" will help colleagues from the Belarusian reserve "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" to recreate the Belarusian population of the dark forest bee, which was lost after the Great Patriotic War.
Recall that Bashkir specialists already have experience in working with populations of dark forest bees. Autonomous non-profit organization of the Republic of Bashkortostan "Altyn Solok" was originally created with the aim of reproducing the native population of the dark forest bee. Today, the institution has the status of a breeding reproducer for breeding bees of the Central Russian breed and a laboratory for molecular genetic expertise. The laboratory has already collected the largest honey bee DNA bank in RUSSIA, which is constantly replenished and updated. This valuable information allows you to create reference identifiers for each breed of bees.
“We agreed on cooperation with Belarusian scientists back in December 2021,” said Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Belarus, Minister of Agriculture Ilshat Fazrakhmanov. – The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus signed a corresponding agreement within the framework of the official visit of the delegation of Bashkortostan to Belarus. Cooperation already covers a variety of areas.
Also, within the framework of the International Specialized Wholesale Exhibition-Fair "ProdExpo-2022", which was held in MINSK from November 15 to November 18, 2022, the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization of the Republic of Bashkortostan "Altyn Solok" signed a cooperation agreement with the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus" .
it should be noted that in 2023 in Bashkortostan a program was developed to support beekeeping, which is also partly aimed at preserving and spreading the local population of the Central Russian bee. For its implementation in 2023, 20 million rubles were allocated from the budget of the republic. The funds will be used to purchase bee families, bee packages and queen bees of the Bashkir breed (breeding), able to live in logs with minimal human intervention, the purchase of logs and equipment. Laboratory studies of wild-caught honey and the genetic validity of the breed of bees will also be subsidized.
