The Moscow authorities refused to agree on an application for holding a rally in the city center against the recognition of the media as foreign agents. The refusal is reported on the website of the trade union. The organizers announced their intention to appeal the refusal.
The response of the Moscow Department of Regional Security states that the city authorities refused to hold a rally against the backdrop of the epidemiological situation with the CORONAVIRUS infection COVID-19.
The document notes that this decision was made on the basis of clause 6.2 of the Decree of the Mayor of Moscow dated June 8, 2021 No. 68-UM, according to which there is a ban on holding public events in the city.
On August 23, the organizers of the action turned to the mayor's office with a request to hold a rally on Pushkin Square or on Nikitsky Boulevard on September 4, after a number of media outlets and journalists were included in the list of foreign agents. Organizers expected up to 500 people to attend the event.
RBC sent a request to the Moscow Regional Security Department.
