The turnover of the funeral business in Bashkiria in 2020 amounted to 1.073 billion rubles. Compared to 2019, the volume of funeral services provided in monetary terms decreased by 99.9 million rubles. This was reported to RBC Ufa in the territorial office of the Federal State Statistics Service for the Republic of Belarus (Bashkortostanstat).

At the same time, the share of the funeral business in the total volume of paid services to the population in 2020 increased to 0.5% from 0.4% in 2019. In total, paid services worth 221.9 billion rubles were provided in the republic last year.

In the first half of 2021, the revenue from the provision of ritual services in the republic amounted to 526.1 million rubles.

Mortality in 2020 in Bashkiria has increased. During the year, 60.2 thousand people died in the republic, or 15 people per 100 thousand of the population. In 2019, 49.1 thousand people died in Bashkiria, or 12.1 per 100 thousand of the population. In the year of the pandemic, the number of deaths in Bashkiria increased by 18.43%.

In the first quarter of 2021, 15 thousand people died in the region. The death rate is 15.2 per 100 thousand of the population, which is more than in 2020.
