In the Stavropol Territory, interregional exercises were held to eliminate the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease

The event was attended by the Deputy HEAD of the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR Konstantin Savenkov, employees of the territorial departments and laboratories of the Service, subjects of state veterinary services, specialized educational institutions.

As a result of the exercises, the departments determined the degree of readiness of forces and technical means, developed a methodology for action in the event of an outbreak. The exercises involved special disinfection equipment and a mobile cremator. The audience was shown all the stages of activities in establishing the source of infection: from fixing the first signs of the disease to lifting the quarantine.

Maxim Uvaydov noted that the high risk of the spread of epizootics is currently associated with the unfavorable situation in neighboring states. In this vein, the role of Rosselkhoznadzor and regional state veterinary services is especially growing.

They become the first and main barrier against the threat of the spread of especially dangerous diseases, including those common to humans and animals. At the same time, vaccination is an effective preventive measure of protection. 

According to Konstantin Savenkov, there is a direct link between the development of livestock exports and the epizootic well-being of the country. Outbreaks of dangerous diseases can lead to a complete or partial ban on the EXPORT of goods. Expanding interaction between departments will help to quickly respond to threats and carry out preventive measures in time.
