A new method for calculating the need for veterinarians in rural areas
Photo is illustrative in nature. From open sources.

The methodology takes into account veterinarian time commitments and standard veterinary procedure costs, as well as animal species and the time required for their treatment. Results showed that veterinarians devote 89% of their time to cattle care , while poultry and small livestock account for only 2.7% and 2.5%, respectively. Approximately 25% of their time is spent on preventative measures, of which 54% is diagnostic procedures and 38% is vaccination . Previously, the number of veterinarians was determined intuitively, which led to a shortage of specialists or unnecessary budget expenditures. The new methodology will eliminate these problems by accurately accounting for the passive animal population in each region.
