The American manufacturer of personal computers and printers, Hewlett-Packard (HP), has closed its Russian website - when users try to log in, they are automatically redirected to the Kazakh version. Cnews drew attention to this. Previously, on the Russian website it was possible to download drivers for home devices. However, as an RBC correspondent was convinced, driver downloads are still available on the Kazakh website.

As Mash writes, the company’s operating activities in RUSSIA, which were supposed to end in May, were eventually terminated ahead of schedule. The TELEGRAM channel provides a message from HP support, which states that “this [operational activity] process has been completed and HP no longer operates in the country [Russia].”

At the end of February 2022, HP decided to suspend supplies to Russia, and in May 2022, to complete operations in the country; the local subsidiary stopped concluding new contracts and orders, the company’s report said. HP began liquidating its Russian subsidiary in November last year.

As Anton Fomin, HEAD of retail projects at the Fplus IT holding, told RBC, in Russia HP was represented in such consumer categories as laptops, desktop PCs, printers and MFPs. “The brand’s share in Russia is expected to decline, but the decline itself varies from category to category. If we compare the current year with 2021, HP’s share of the laptop market has fallen by almost 90%. The picture is similar in the PC market - there the share decreased by 71%. In the category of printing devices, the drop is approximately 32–34%,” the expert noted.
