The President of RUSSIA said that a new strain of CORONAVIRUS could become a kind of natural vaccine against covid-19, but urged not to rush to conclusions. Earlier, a virologist and doctors told RBC that the omicron strain would not become a vaccine.

The Omicron strain of coronavirus is not as harmful as originally thought, and has been compared to a "live vaccine". This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin , quoted by TASS.

“Although they say it is not so harmful, some experts even call it live vaccination. <...> Let's not get ahead of ourselves," Putin said at a meeting on economic issues in Sochi.

He added that fears about the danger of a new strain turned out to be premature, however, when assessing the situation, one should “proceed from what has already been experienced in the previous year and a half.”
