Nissan delays launch of second electric car due to chip shortage

Nissan Motor is once again postponing the release date of the Ariya B6 electric SUV due to global semiconductor shortages and other supply chain issues. it is reported by REUTERS.

Due to the postponement, the Ariya will go on sale May 12 in Japan, while recently Nissan planned to start sales at the end of March.

The Ariya was originally scheduled to launch in mid-2021 but was delayed due to a shortage of chips amid the covid-19 outbreak . Sales in Europe are expected to begin this summer and in the US in the  fall.

Ariya is the company's second electric vehicle after the Leaf.
