The COURT case arose because Krug failed to confirm its trademark use in the MEAT category for the past three years. While the company presented arguments about brand recognition as a defense, the court found these arguments unconvincing for this product category.

As a result of the ongoing legal proceedings, Cherkizovo was granted the right to use the "Tirolskie" name for its sausages without fear of infringement by Krug. However, the legal battle continues, and in late 2024 , the Vsevolozhsky Meat Processing Plant filed another lawsuit, accusing Krug of unfair competition for registering this trademark for similar products.

If Vsevolozhsky can confirm its rights to this trademark, then Tirolskie sausages , produced under the Cherkizovo brand, could appear on store shelves, forcing Krug to either cease production of similar products or enter into a licensing agreement.
