The Ministry of Health has finalized and updated temporary guidelines on vaccination of the adult population against COVID-19 . They are posted on the agency's website.

“Temporary guidelines have been finalized taking into account the experience of using vaccines to prevent the new Coronavirus infection COVID-19 in pregnant women and people with cancer, as well as in terms of the procedure for issuing medical exemptions from preventive vaccinations,” the ministry said (TASS quote).

The manual notes that the coronavirus vaccine does not pose a danger to pregnant women and their fetuses. Pregnant women at risk of developing severe COVID-19 include women with obesity, chronic lung disease, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic kidney disease, and liver disease.

“The Gam-COVID-Vac vaccine (“Sputnik V”) should be used during pregnancy in cases where the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. That is, IT is advisable to vaccinate those at risk of severe COVID-19 from 22 weeks of pregnancy, ”the manual says.
