Zayats: milk production in Belarus increased by 5% in the first quarter of 2023

April 21, MINSK. In the first quarter of 2023, MILK production in Belarus increased by 5%. This was stated to journalists by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Leonid Zayats, BelTA has learned.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, now Belarus can EXPORT 40% of MEAT products, as well as 60% of dairy products.

"The yield of 2022 had a positive impact on livestock production. Thus, in the first quarter of 2023, milk production increased by 5% - this is 79 thousand tons of this product. In addition, we increased by 16 thousand tons in the production of poultry meat, pork and cattle to the level of 2022," said Leonid Zayats.

He also added that this year the number of cattle was increased by 10 thousand, the number of pigs - by 13 thousand, and poultry - by 954 thousand.

Among other things, the conditions of safety have been improved. Thus, the unproductive disposal of livestock compared to the level of the previous year amounted to 75%.

"Since the dynamics of the development of social animal husbandry is significantly improving, on the basis of this, the economic component of the agro-industrial complex is growing. In accordance with this, the material support of our workers in agriculture is improving. Thus, wages in the industry increased by 25% last year, and in the first two months this year - by 23% compared to the same level in 2022," the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus said.
