In 10 years, the income of farmers in the EU increased to 35,300 euros

From 2007 to 2018, the average income of one farm in the EU increased and amounted to 35.3 thousand euros, and per annual work unit (AWU) it reached 22.5 thousand euros.

Such data are presented in the EU Agricultural Economic Survey. It also says that the value of agricultural production in agriculture during this period increased by 34 percent, and in animal husbandry - by 36 percent.

There are significant differences in the agro-industrial complex of the European Union. Thus, the richest farms with high income are located in the west of the alliance, while the eastern ones are content with a modest income. Above-average profits per year of work are made on farms that sow wheat and other grains, make wine, grow orchards, and raise dairy cattle. But the most profitable business was still pig and poultry farming: in 2018, 38.9 thousand euros came out for one AWU in these industries, and the larger the farm, the more profitable it is to raise poultry and pigs.

The European Union, which advocates gender equality, has certainly not achieved it in its agriculture yet: data from the Economic Agricultural Survey shows that farms run by women receive lower incomes.
