For the first time this year, the GDT index fell

The Global Dairy Trade (GDT) index for the first time in the last nine auctions showed a decrease in the index. This is the first decline in 2021.

The last, 280th auction ended today, Tuesday, March 16, with a 3.8% drop in the GDT price index.

In total, 26,872 tons of products were sold during the day.

   Key Findings:

Anhydrous milk fat index up 3.7%, average price $ 6,155/ ton Butter index down 2.8%, average price $5,659/ton Cheddar index unavailable, average price $4,250/ton Lactose index increased by 8.6%, average price of USD 1,392 per ton COM index increased by 0.7%, average price of USD 3,350 per ton SPM index decreased by 6.2%, average price of USD 4,083 per ton

The most dramatic increase was observed in the lactose index, +8.6%. The indices of anhydrous milk fat and dry skimmed milk also increased, by 3.7% and 0.7%, respectively.

Significantly, by 6.2%, the price index of powdered whole milk (SPM), as well as butter, decreased by 2.8%.
