Vitebsk Concern "Meat and Dairy Products" increased exports to China by more than 3 times

June 18, Vitebsk. Enterprises of the Vitebsk Concern Meat and Dairy Products state association supplied $4.6 million worth of goods to the Chinese market in January-May , which is 3.2 times higher than the export volume for the same period in 2020, BelTA learned from the concern.

China is the third largest export partner of the concern's enterprises, experts added. Based on the export portfolio formed to date, the most active producers of dry dairy products in the Chinese market are JSC "Moloko" (Vitebsk), JSC "Verhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Plant", JSC "Gluboksky Milk Canning Plant", branch "Lepel Dairy Canning Plant" JSC " Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant and OJSC Polotsk Dairy Plant. Powdered milk and powdered milk whey occupy almost 100% in the commodity structure of exports.

Taking into account the forecast of the level of provision with food products in China, the organizations of the Vitebsk region have the potential to expand their presence in the Chinese market, the concern noted.

This can be achieved by increasing the volume of existing export positions and bringing other dairy and meat products to the market, as well as by expanding the list of enterprises accredited for export to China. To date, organizations are certified for the right to supply all dairy products, frozen beef and products from it. In 2021, the list of accredited suppliers was added to Postavy Dairy Plant OJSC.

At this stage, the enterprises of the concern operate on the basis of wholesale deliveries. For the future, tasks are set, taking into account the needs of potential buyers, to adapt products such as condensed milk, canned meat, curd cheeses to the Chinese market, as well as expand the product range through the production and promotion of products with extended shelf life to the Chinese market. It is planned to work out the issues of developing electronic commerce in the Chinese market and organizing the supply of goods through electronic trading platforms. To solve the set tasks, it is planned to use the potential of exhibition events more actively. The enterprises of the concern annually participate in specialized exhibitions in China,

GO "Vitebsk Concern "Meat and Dairy Products" is one of the largest associations in Belarus of producers of meat and dairy, flour and cereals, fruits and vegetables, bakery and confectionery products, animal feed, premixes, canned fish. Its structure includes 18 processing enterprises, 10 serving , 3 trade, 111 agricultural organizations.The Concern coordinates the work of seven agro-industrial associations created in the framework of the implementation of Decree No. 70 "On the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region."
