Vitebsk concern "Meat and dairy products" will allocate about Br280 million for the modernization of enterprises

March 9, Vitebsk. The state association "Vitebsk Concern "Meat and Dairy Products" plans to allocate about Br280 million for the modernization of processing enterprises, BelTA learned from the concern.

Investments are needed to maintain the competitiveness of manufacturers and maintain their position in the market. The MILK processing enterprises of the concern take the 2nd place in the country in terms of the output of marketable products from 1 ton of raw materials (more than Br1.2 thousand), however, the most recent most significant modernization projects were completed in 2013 and 2017. In addition, the program for the comprehensive development of the industry, implemented within the framework of Decree No. 70 "On the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region", provides for the expansion of the raw material base of agro-industrial associations, which will require a corresponding increase in processing capacities.

Among the most significant in the near future, several projects with a high share of the innovative component are planned.

At OAO "Moloko" (Vitebsk) it is necessary to reconstruct the sodium caseinate workshop for the production of hard and semi-hard cheeses with the possibility of processing 300 tons of milk per day. A new cheese shop with a capacity of 15 tons per day will be built at the Polotsk Dairy Plant OJSC, a drying complex will be reconstructed and equipment for bottling dairy products will be purchased. Branch "Lepelskiy MKK" JSC "Vitebsk MEAT Processing Plant" intends to reconstruct the production of dry dairy products.

GO "Vitebsk Concern "Meat and Dairy Products" is one of the largest associations in Belarus of producers of meat and dairy, FLOUR and cereals, fruits and vegetables, bakery and confectionery products, animal feed, premixes, canned fish. Its structure includes 18 processing enterprises, 10 serving , three trade, 111 agricultural organizations.The Concern coordinates the work of seven agro-industrial associations created in the framework of the implementation of Decree No. 70 "On the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region."

At the end of 2020, the volume of industrial production (works, services), taking into account the cost of tolling raw materials, amounted to Br1.2 billion, or 108.9% by 2019. Sales proceeds exceeded Br1.9 billion (growth rate - 129%). Net income of Br610 million was received, profitability of sales was at the level of 8.9%. The enterprises expanded the geography of foreign deliveries to 26 countries. In 2020, products worth $194 million were exported, which is 6.7% more than in 2019.
